254SMO Super Austenitic Stainless Steel

254 SMO is a high-performance austenitic stainless steel. Due to its high molybdenum content, it has extremely high resistance to point corrosion and crevice corrosion. It is developed specifically for resisting the corrosion of acids containing halides, such as hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid, phosphoric acid, and sulfuric acid mixed with chlorides. 254 SMO also has good resistance to uniform corrosion. In some cases, it can be comparable to expensive nickel and titanium alloys.
